" In my 33 years as Rabbi at Temple Emanu-El, I have never seen a student as prepared as you, Mikey!"

" I've been searching all day for the right words to describe how special, amazing, wonderful, humbling, etc, last night was and it truly was made possible by the hard work and time that our daughter put into it. Without all of your guidance, support, teaching, patience and support for her (and us) it wouldn't have been what it was!!

My wife and I were absolutely blown away (as were all of those in attendance) by how our daughter performed and how confident she was. We can't thank you enough for all of your support of her, as without that, I'm not sure she would have been able to accomplish what she did. It was truly one of the greatest nights of our lives!! I think, "Daddy, I did it, I did it," was priceless and summed up how she felt!! Thank you again, as it was an awesome experience to be able to work with all of you!!!!"

" In all seriousness, and all sincerity, the thought that I am teaching a young child to read Hebrew continues to blow my mind. Unmatchable feeling"

"We are still recovering from last night's celebration! What we can't stop thinking about is the ceremony and what you helped our daughter to accomplish. My husband and I can't thank you enough for helping her prepare for one of the most important days in her life.

The service was exactly what we envisioned for her and our family. We are so proud of her and she is so proud of herself!"

“I really can't thank you and Jerry enough for going so out of your way tonight (and always). I feel awful about the time it took you to drive to us in Scarsdale, and I appreciate it immensely. Jerry is such a warm, talented person...I'm so excited that he'll be playing at our daughter’s service! Anyway, thank you again. I have no words to express my gratitude to you, honestly. We are so lucky you came into our lives "

“Hi--the boys had their first night of tutoring with Jordan last night. I just wanted to pass on some of the comments from the boys: when they first met him and sat down to start--"this is going to be so much better than we were doing last year", "wow--is he really our teacher?", "this is so cool".

After they finished--"can we stay with Jordan the whole time, all the way through to our bar mitzvahs?", "I learned more tonight than I did in two years with our other teacher", "I can't wait for next week." I think it is off to a great start. "

“ Finally a quiet moment to let you know how happy we were with Saturday's festivities. Even the rain—or perhaps because of the rain—it felt like the intimate, family-focused occasion we were hoping for (huddled beneath the sheltering tent). I know the service touched many of those assembled. One of our friends, a devout Episcopalian, sent the following Psalm 114 and message which I thought you might enjoy:

6 Why, mountains, did you leap like rams, you hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, 8 who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water.

so cool that that image in the psalms (like the kids playing on the slope behind the tent) references what my son spoke of last night! wonderful time, beautiful event, powerful marking -so glad to have been a part. thank you! So, many thanks to you Joel, for helping to make it all happen. With warmest regards, "
